Holiday fun

Hi squiddlers. Today is the first real day of my break. I have one day then I have to work again.
D'OH!
But that's cool because my work is interesting :-)
Today I drew this picture for a design project...

Before that I discovered my wild bantam rooster friend from the gardens has developed a limp so I went down to feed him organic chook food to see if I could catch him to take him to a vet. He is VERY handsome and I got to sit with him a while but he's too elusive to capture at this stage. I will visit him again later today and tomorrow.

Other treats include walking Manny, assembling and using my new barbie [outdoor cooking device, not doll], chopping wood for my cool new brazier, fencing my summer vege garden so my chooks don't wreck it, planning a weekend away for our 8th anniversary and watching interesting documentaries.

What are you all doing?

I went to Rangitoto island and saw up. Is it supposed to be a happy movie??? I bawled my eyes out about four times. It was such a sad, sad movie.
BTW Rm6ians, Rangitoto island has the BEST rock of make axes out of. WHY didn't I go to Rangitoto island to find rock. WHY?
(I was making a stone age axe to all of those who have no idea what I am saying).

I just got back from Rotovegas where we had one day of fun and one day of torrential rain :-) [- still fun]
Now I'm doing school work... hmmm...

WolfGirl - I found your bird cage tray :-)

Challenge to all Woodmonstas and Room5ians - spruce up your blogs so teachers will be impressed. Do as LittleMIssRoom18 is and engage in the blogging challenge. It may improve your worldfamousness...

I was in Rotovegas also in the weekend...
We were going to do a big long walk and go on the luge, but instead we sat inside and came back early due to the torrential rain :-(

That's a shame, OtherBoy. We went into the redwoods on Saturday and had a lovely walk and had a photo comp. [I won of course] Then we went up the gondolas and down the luge three times - mucho fun!
When it hosed down overnight and all Sunday we retired to a lovely cafe [Relish] and then the rather tedious museum... Of course I always get a little misty when I see things about the Maori Battalion, and it was kinda cool to walk around amongst the foundations.
Always look for the positives to have a better time. For example, I am currently still at home having missed my AirNZ flight due to last minute cancellation. I am glad I get to spend more time with my wife, dog and chooks, so it's not too bad.
:-)
BTW - please go and spruce up your blogs for perusal by the conference teachers on Thursday.

Well, I had a mega cool farewell party at rosiegal's house, and a super snazzy sleepover at queenie's house. I had a good flight to Aussie (I watched Twilight on the plane - yay!!) And since being in Oz I have been to an aquarium where I saw 2 of the 5 dugongs on exhibition in the whole world (snazzy, eh??!) I have been to a museum where there were lots of fossils and bones :o) And I have done lots of shopping!! (Woo hoo!) On our first day here, the high was 31'C - I am waiting for another beautiful day like that one to go for a swim in the pool :o) I have bought my new uniform and school shoes and am currently shaking in my boots wondering what the first day at this new school will be like... ARRRGGGHHH! :o)
