On camp we will be taking bush walks and staying out camping overnight.
To prepare in class we have brainstormed 20 essential items to take on our walk. We then used a "Tournament Prioritiser" [Frangenheim] to rank our items in terms of importance for survival.
By now you should be able to say here in your comments which item you would most treasure if things turned to custard in the bush.
Here are some links to resources we will use in class or that you can peruse in your own time.
Do you know how to find water in a survival situation?

Your doing another Kakepuku Catastrophe I see. Along the lines, at least.
World maths day is really fun and its a very great idea to get involved in!
Hmmm...
Plants.
P.S. Maori aren't Tangata Whenua.
Not doing Kakepuku Catastrophe type thing, NeinaMarie. We have to do collaborative planning at this school so my usual approach has been thwarted. Perhaps that's a good thing ;-)
Roo - why aren't they Tangata Whenua and where do you get your info?
What is worldmaths day?
World maths day is a website were you compete with people from around the world and it gives you points if you win :) It is so much fun :)
Will we be having an overnight camp?
Do we get to make our own fires?
I believe bush saftey should be top priorities on camp
