On our island we may be able to grow tea as a crop:
Waikato Tea Farm
Read the article then discuss what we would have to do to successfully profit from tea growing on our island, or whether or not it would be possible.

OK, I will do the work on the thing.
Yes we shall grow tea, tea is a delightful drink, if you like it. Little charlie here will show you the English art of how to make of tea.

The article says there are tea leaves in the Waikato but does that mean there are tea leaves on our island?
Also if we were going to harvest tea we could trade with other islands or sell it to the mainland!
I think we could and should! I am the horticoligist so I would probably be the one growing it wouldn't I?
I think growing tea would be a good idea for our island.
I agree with winged hussar. As some of you may have noticed I myself am English and this video really expresses the true respect for tea egnglish people have.
We should grow tea, not just because of the profit but because of it's calming effect that it has. Well the calming effect that it has on me.
Growing tea is a very time consuming task but who would drink tea on the island apart from the teachers? I always drink the bottom of my Mums cup of tea and i think it dosn't taste to bad.
the article says that has been very hard atork growing chinese tea for a long time. maybe we could grow tea on the island and trade it with the other islands
Good point sprint gas racing. If we had tea on the island only the teachers would drink the tea! =)
nice but you need a large area of land
Also the acticle says the green leaves are illegal why is this I dont know but I will try and find out.
I think it would be a delightful thing to do as we could sel it to other islands and the main land as little miss rm 18 said. I think that we could use the profits for buildings and structures that we need on the island!
Yams, we have 1000 sq. km, we have all the land in the world. or at least 1000 square kilometres of it.
